Regional Park System: o System Plan Considerations Affecting Your Community The following information describes system changes impacting your community. It does not represent all system components located within your jurisdiction. Following the 2014 Council adoption of the Chain of Lakes-Otter Lake Regional Trail Master Plan, existing segments of the regional trail are now present in your community and are depicted on the updated Regional Parks System Facilities in Your Community map (Figure 1). Look at Figure 1 which shows green trail segments in Centerville, all of which appear to be existing, although the south segment on Centerville Road is labeled “Existing (Not Open to Public)” whatever that means. Existing and planned segments of the regional trail travel through Centerville and Lino Lakes as it connects the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve, Central Anoka Regional Trail, and Bald Eagle- Otter Lake Regional Park in White Bear Township. I don’t see that this affects Centerville in any meaningful way that we need to do anything about, although any time there is an official pronouncement like this it might be a good idea to confirm with our Met Council rep, Patrick Boylan. I know Patrick (just hung out with him at the APAMN Planning conference last week). You or I could call him to discuss and make sure there isn’t anything we need to do.
