CITY OF CENTERVILLE

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City Council of the City of Centerville will consider the
adoption of special assessments against properties that have delinquent utilities charges for the
year 2021/2022 and outstanding balances associated with City services/assessments (i.e., lawn
maintenance, property cleanup, etc.). The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 9, 2022
at 6:30 p.m. or shortly thereafter. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the certification of the
delinquent City charges for utilities, garbage and other services provided to properties that have
unpaid charges due on or before September 19, 2022.

The proposed assessment roll is on file for public inspection at the City Clerkâs office. Written or
oral objections will be considered at the meeting. No appeal to district court may be taken as to
the amount of an assessment unless a written objection signed by the affected property owner is
filed with the Municipal Clerk prior to the assessment hearing or presented to the presiding officer
at the hearing. The Council may upon such notice consider any objection to the amount of a
proposed individual assessment at an adjourned meeting upon such further notice to the affected
property owners as it deems advisable.

An owner may appeal an assessment to district court pursuant to Minn. Stat. §429.081 by serving
notice of the appeal upon the Mayor or Clerk of the City within 30 days after the adoption of the
assessment and filing such notice with the district court within ten days after service upon the
mayor or clerk.

The City Hall is ADA accessible. Requests for hearing assisted devices or a sign language
interpreter must be received before 4:00 p.m. November 1, 2022. All persons interested are invited
to attend and to be heard, verbally or in writing. You may call City Hall (651) 792-7934 if you
have any questions.

Teresa Bender, City Clerk
Published in The Quad Community Press on October 25, 2022
