City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br /> October 19, 2022 <br /> <br />IX. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Business Appreciation Event <br />Executive Director Lewis reviewed the item as presented in the packet. <br /> <br />X. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Holiday Wreaths <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced the topic of holiday decorations that the EDA purchased last <br />year. Discussion ensued about the 24” wreaths purchased last year and the 36” wreaths the EDA <br />would like to purchase this year; the EDA would like to donate the 24” wreaths to businesses, <br />along with a holiday note attached from the EDA. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner King, seconded by Commissioner Swenson to purchase 25-30 <br />holiday wreaths in an amount not to exceed $3,000, and to donate the 24” wreaths to <br />businesses to display. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />XI. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Accept President Hanzal’s Resignation <br /> <br />President Hanzal submitted his resignation, which will become effective following the November <br />16 EDA meeting. The EDA thanked President Hanzal for all of his work on the EDA. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner King, seconded by Vice-President Remillard to accept President <br />Hanzal’s resignation following the November EDA meeting. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. EDA Vacancy <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced the EDA vacancy. Discussion ensued about the process for <br />filling the upcoming vacancy created by President Hanzal’s resignation. The EDA would like to <br />post the vacancy for thirty days and contact previous applicants to let them know about the <br />upcoming vacancy. <br /> <br />Motion by Vice-President Remillard, seconded by President Hanzal to recommend to post <br />the EDA vacancy for thirty days. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />XI. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Commissioner Swenson, seconded by Commissioner Mosher to adjourn the <br />October 19, 2022 Economic Development Authority meeting at 7:46 p.m. All in favor.
