<br />City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br />July 20, 2022 <br />2. Communications <br />a. Swag Bags <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reported that the city distributed 150 swag bags with promotional <br />items provided by local businesses; she thanked the businesses for their support. <br />b. 1737 Main Street <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reported that Mike Brass, the city’s realtor, is working with the <br />owner of Chef Hot Hands to assist him with securing a business loan, so he can relocate his <br />business to the 1737 Main Street property. In addition, Scooters Coffee has also expressed interest <br />in the 1737 Main Street site. Staff met with a representative from Scooters Coffee and discussed <br />the site, the company’s business model, and development process. The representative will be <br />meeting with corporate representatives later in the week and, said she would follow up with us <br />soon. <br /> <br />VI. REPORTS <br />1. Partner Agency Reports <br />a. Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed the report as presented. <br />2. Year to Date Financials <br />The financials were reviewed as presented. <br />3. Ongoing Programs: <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed the report as presented. <br />4. Administrator’s Report <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed the report as presented. <br /> <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. CenterStage Program Overview & Guidelines <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed the revised program guidelines as presented in the packet. <br />The revised program will provide up to four ads to new businesses or businesses who have not <br />participated in the program before. <br /> <br />Motion by President Weatherhead and seconded by Commissioner King to approved the <br />revised CenterStage program guidelines. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br />1. 2023 EDA Budget <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed the 2023 budget as presented, noting key changes in <br />certain line items, such as the CenterStage program, Business Appreciation, Memberships and <br />Schooling, Studies, Promotional items, etc. Discussion ensued about the monument sign line item <br />as well, and staff will follow up with the administrator and/or city council on this to <br />receive clarification on this line item. The EDA noted that they would not like to include a <br />contingency line item in the budget. <br /> <br />Motion by President King and seconded by Commissioner Remillard to approved the 2023 <br />EDA Budget.
