VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We are searching for volunteers to serve on two of our Boards and Committees. There is an opening on
our Parks & Recreation Committee, and one on our Economic Development Authority (EDA) Board.
Volunteering is an excellent way to get involved in the community, and connect with others. Information
about meeting schedules is listed below. Please call city hall at 651-429-3232 with any questions about
these opportunities!

Parks & Recreation Committee Î Open Seat
o Meets monthly on the First Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM, in chambers.
Economic Development Authority Î Open Seat
o Meets monthly on the Third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM, in chambers.

PARKS AND RECREATION
Strategic Plan
If you would like to give input, we are always happy to receive your thoughts. Just give us a call or email
us at: info@centervillemn.com

Fete des Lacs
Annually, the Fete des Lacs Committee gets together to review the good, the bad and the ugly from the
festival, with the hope of making the celebration even better next year. If you have input on what you
liked or didnÓt like, please email us at: info@centervillemn.com

Volunteer Appreciation Event
The second annual Volunteer Appreciation Event is being planned for September 15, 2022 at Hidden
Spring Park. An alternate location has yet to be determined if rain is experienced. Food, drinks and
appreciation items will be provided to volunteers for their service to their community. This is one event
that thanks those individuals that give of themselves to make Centerville great throughout the year and a
wonderful place to live, (Fete des Lacs, park monument flower beds, Main Street Market, Music in the
Park, serving on a Committee/Commission and Council).

Emerald Ash Borer
Several trees have been treated by Rainbow Tree Care within the City and
its local parks as a way to slow the spread of the bug and providing time
for diversification of types of trees for replacement and strategic planning.
The Committee forwarded their recommendation to Council for
acceptance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a preferred tree service
provider that treats healthy trees as a preventative measure to deter infestation. Rainbow
Tree Care has submitted pricing within their RFP, a guarantee, customer recommendations, etc. If Council
approves, the proposal will be available to residents through the website and all social media avenues of
the City.

Monument/Donation Policy
The Committee forwarded their recommendation to Council for approval of a Monument/Donation Policy
which will guide Staff, the Committee and the donor through the processes, expectations and requirements
associated with a monetary or material donation.
