<br />Administrator/Engineer’sReport <br />September 14,2022 <br />ELECTIONS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ELECTIONS 2022 <br />(GENERAL) ALONG WITH MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS (MAYOR & 2 COUNCIL <br />SEATS) <br />Incumbents D. Love filed for the Mayoral seat (2 year term), Darrin Mosher filed for one <br />(1) of the Council seats and Michelle Lakso filed for the other Council seat. Council seats are a 4 year <br />term. These names will appear on the General Election ballot for Municipal Offices. <br />General Election voting will commence as follows: <br /> <br />Absentee—Envelope Process, September 23, 2022 (City Hall, 7:30 a.m.—4:00 p.m. Monday—Friday) <br />Absentee—Direct Balloting, November 1, 2022 (City Hall, 7:30 a.m.—4:00 p.m., Monday—Friday, <br />Saturday, November 5, 2022, 10:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m.) & Monday, November 7, 2022, 7:30 a.m.—5:00 <br />p.m.) <br />General Election—November 8, 2022 (St. Genevieve’s Community Parish Center, 6995 Centerville <br />Road, 7:00 a.m.—8:00 p.m.) <br /> <br />If you are new to Centerville, moved within Centerville or changed your name due to marriage or divorce, <br />-please register or re-register in time for Election Day. If you have questions, please contact: (651) 792- <br />7933 or Anoka County Elections at: (763) 324-1300. <br />VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES <br />We continue to search for volunteers to serve on two (2) of our Boards and Committees. There is an <br />opening on our Parks & Recreation Committee, and one (1) on our Economic Development Authority <br />(EDA) Board. Volunteering is an excellent way to get involved in the community, and connect with others. <br />Information about meeting schedules is listed below. Please call city hall at 651-429-3232 wth any <br />questions about these opportunities! <br />Parks & RecreationCommittee – OpenSeat <br />o Meets monthly on the firstWednesdayof the month at 6:30 p.m., in chambers. <br />Economic DevelopmentAuthority – OpenSeat <br />o Meets monthly on the thirdWednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., in chambers. <br />PLANNING & ZONING <br />City Code Updates <br />At its meeting on 9/13, a public hearing will be held on the following zoning issues: <br />Emerald Ash Borer <br />TheCommission will consider updates to clarify that all diseased trees must be removed if they pose a <br />danger to the public. <br />Discharge of Firearms <br />While our current ordinance has many restrictions on the discharge of firearms and other projectiles, the <br />Commission will consider strengthening that language. <br />Liquor Licenses near Schools <br />The Commission will consider amending the radius around schools in which a liquor license would not <br />be issued. <br /> <br />
