City of Centerville <br />Special City Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 16, 2022 <br />VII. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Canvass of the 2022 General Election Results <br /> <br />The City Clerk reviewed election statistics with Council stating that there was a 73% turnout of 2,009 <br />votes cast. <br /> <br />Brief discussion was had regarding the voter registration process and requirements. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Koski reviewed the results for candidates: Mayor (D. Love) 1,381 with 54 write-ins; <br />Council Member (Darrin Mosher) 929 and Council Member (Michelle Lakso) 981 with 41 write-ins. <br /> <br />The City Clerk thanked all Elections Judges as it was an extremely busy day at the polls and the judges <br />assisted all professionally and impartially. She stated that the judges set the tone, provide assistance to <br />the public and adhere to all election laws and regulations. Acting Mayor Koski thanked the City Clerk <br />and Senior Account Clerk for their dedication and assistance to voters throughout the Absentee Voting <br />process (46 days prior to Election Day). <br /> <br />Additional discussion took place regarding absentee Military Ballots and processes for receiving absentee <br />ballots. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Mosher to approve the Abstract of Votes and <br />Write-In Summary Statements Canvass of Results for the Offices of Mayor and Council Members <br />as Presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />XI.
