City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 11, 2023 <br />Administrator Statz stated that the application is available on the city’s web site and could be emailed or <br />dropped off at City Hall. Mayor Love asked if it could be accessed through the mobile app. <br />Administrator Statz said he thought it could and would verify and correct if necessary. <br /> <br />2. Res. #23-0XX – Accepting a Donation from Kwik Trip to the Parks & Recreation <br />Committee <br /> <br />Administrator Statz reminded the council that formal action was required to accept donations. Kwik Trip <br />donated to the City’s Parks Department and the Police Department. Since the police are a separate entity, <br />they would accept at their next meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Love thanked Kwik Trip for coming to Centerville. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Mosher, seconded by Council Member Koski to Adopt Res. #23-005 <br />Accepting a Donation from Kwik Trip to the Parks & Recreation Committee, as Presented. All in <br />favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Koski thank Kwik Trip for the donation to Centennial Lakes Police Department, as well. <br /> <br />3. Res. #23-0XX – Accepting a Donation from the Centerville Lions Club to the City <br />to Defray the Costs of Fete des Lacs <br /> <br />Administrator Statz described how the city has been operating a joint festival with lions for several years. <br />Donations from local businesses have been growing for several years and have reached a point where <br />they can now defray the costs of the event, in an effort to keep events free. Therefore, the Lions wish to <br />make a donation to the city to help defray our costs as well. Koski thanked the Lions for all that they do <br />in the community, much of which goes unnoticed. Mayor Love also thanked Lions for everything they <br />do. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Mosher, seconded by Council Member Koski to Adopt Res. #23-006 <br />Accepting a Donation from the Centerville Lions Club to Defray the Costs of Fete des Lacs as <br />Presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report – Administrator Statz stated that the mobile app has now <br />launched. He encouraged people to download and utilize it and explore and website, as it is <br />fairly new and let us know what you think. Remember skate night this Saturday. Another <br />Skate Night is scheduled for February. Volunteer opportunities exist on P & R and P & Z <br />Commission. The application form is the same form as for the open seat on Council. A Grand <br />Opening for Kwik Trip was held and was nice event. The EDA is working with new <br />businesses to help get them kicked off through their CenterStage program. <br /> <br />Administrator Statz reminded everyone to clear snow from around hydrants. <br /> <br />Atlas Villas has had one open house and another is scheduled for next Saturday at noon. We <br />are very pleased with the two senior facilities in town and Amazon’s facility is shaping up <br />Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
