CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: February 22, 2023 Administration IX.1 TITLE OF ISSUE: Extension of Joint Powers Agreement with Rice Creek Watershed District for Erosion Control Inspection BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: In 2021, the City and Rice Creek Watershed District Entered into an agreement allowing RCWD staff to act on the City's behalf, as they conduct their project site erosion control inspections. This agreement helps the city fulfill its duties under the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit at a very low cost and eliminates duplicate efforts. The first year and a half of the program have gone very well in the opinion of city and RCWD staff. Therefore, we wish to continue this relationship through the 2023 construction season. The attached, outlines some of the minor changes proposed to the agreement. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: Hourly costs for inspection. Most of these costs are passed through to developers. Costs are less than consultant. REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Motion to approve the Extension of the Joint Powers Agreement with Rice Creek Watershed District for Erosion Control Inspection Services.
