CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />AgendaItem#Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />March 22, 2023 <br />Administration <br />9. <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />SPAAR Grant <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />The Saint Paul Areas Association of Realtors (SPAAR) reached out to cities in the area to request letters of <br />interest to fund projects that support homeownership, placemaking, walkability, etc. <br />Staff submitted a letter of interest requesting funding for civic engagement software that would help us engage <br />with residents to determine what "placemaking" feature(s) they would like to see in Centerville. <br />The maximum award from SPAAR is $3,000, which is the same cost of the civic engagement software that staff <br />has researched. The SPAAR board will meet on April 5 to determine how much funding the city will receive, <br />and if they would like to fund the proposed project or an alternate one.
