City of Centerville <br />Parks and Recreation Meeting Minutes <br />December 7, 2022 <br />Hall property; <br />• To provide the location, species, tree size and condition; <br />• To provide both the Tree Inventory and the Tree GIS/GPS data to the City upon completion which <br />should be the Spring of 2023. The amount of this proposal is $2,230. <br />Mr. Palzer believes that by obtaining this information that it would be helpful for future tree care, such <br />as pruning, removal and replacement. He suggested that an additional inventory of the wooded areas be <br />added at some point in the future to provide an overall tree count and species inventory which will aid in <br />identifying a long-term sustainable tree plan. <br />Motion made by Chairperson Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee Member Seeley to <br />recommend to Council Approval of a Phase I inventory of Open Park Area Trees - $2,230 as <br />submitted. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS <br />1. Permit Application for Use of LaMotte Ballfields - Centennial Lakes Little League <br />Mr. Patrick Mahr, President of the Centennial Lakes Little League, is requesting the use of the baseball <br />and softball fields at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park beginning April 1, 2023 through September 30, <br />2023, Mondays through Friday, from 4:00 pm until dark, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am until <br />2:00 pm. He indicated that a copy of the game schedules would be forwarded to the City Hall as soon <br />as they are printed in April which would include a dragging agreement. Most of the fields used in 2022 <br />were from Monday through Thursday and on Saturday and/or Sunday when practices were held. In <br />addition, they are planning their annual park clean-up day for Saturday, April 15 with a backup date of <br />April 22, 2023. <br />Motion made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Chairperson Errickson-Grahek to <br />recommend to the City Council Approval of the Centennial Lakes Little League use of Ballfields <br />at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park from April 1 through September 30, 2023 subiect to Submittal <br />of Schedules. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />VIL APPROVAL OF AUGUST 3, 2022 P & R MINUTES <br />Motion made by Chairperson Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee Member Seeley to <br />approve the minutes of the August 3, 2022 P & R Committee Meeting with a minor grammatical <br />correction. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />VIII. UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />Staff Updates <br />a. Living Tree Memorial Program — to be placed on the January agenda <br />b. Drinking Fountains to install in Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park and Eagle Park; committee <br />members would like Public Works Director, Paul Palzer to provide possible locations in each <br />park to best serve the users and also how the water will be channeled to the fountains. Ms. <br />Bender stated that a deadline for the 2023 Anoka County Public Health SHIP grant <br />applications would be in March and submitting application for the items could be <br />accomplished by staff. <br />
