CITY OF CENTERVILLEREQUEST FOR ACTION Agenda Item # Department: RequestedMeetingDate: April 4, 2023 Planning VI TITLE OF ISSUE: Medical Treatment Facilities BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: The city passed a moratorium on medical treatment facilities on October 31, 2022, thereby allowing one year to study the issue. The Planning Commission discussed next steps at their last meeting and requested that staff reach out to the city of Woodbury to learn about concerns they had while approving the plans for the methadone clinic, an outpatient medical treatment facility. The Methadone clinic in Woodbury is zoned in their General Business District (business park) along with a hotel, coffee shop, and other businesses. Staff noted that the only issue they've seen so far is stacking, associated with cab drop offs at the clinic. Staff noted that location of the clinic in their business park has high visibility, because of its proximity to other businesses in the area and this has been helpful in terms of identifying potential issues.
