CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: April 12, 2023 Parks & Recreation VII.9 TITLE OF ISSUE: Two (2) Grant Applications/Anoka County SHIP Award Confirmation - $3,000/ea. BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: City staff was directed by the Parks & Recreation Committee to submit two (2) separate grant applications for consideration by Anoka County - Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP). One (1) grant is for the purchase of a bicycle repair station to be installed near the entrance of and along the trail that leads into/out of the Anoka County Regional park of Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. The other grant is for the installation of two (2) ADA compliant water-bottle filling, drinking and pet watering stations. The Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park drinking fountain received repeated vandalism and was removed from the exterior of the building a year ago so one (1) will be a replacement for this park and installed up by the pavilion. The other drinking fountain will be installed near the parking lot/trail of Acorn Creek Park.
