<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AND MEETING <br />MARCH 22, 2023 <br />5:00 & 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled City Council <br />Work Session & Meeting on March 22, 2023 in Council Chamber of City Hall and the Regular Council <br />meeting was live streamed by North Metro TV at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />WORK SESSION MEETING <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor D. Love called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Approved <br />PRESENT: Mayor D. Love <br />Council Member Russ Koski <br />Council Member Darrin Mosher <br />Council Member Steve King <br />Junior Council Member Rowan Shaw (Non-Voting) <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />STAFF: City Administrator, Mark Statz <br /> Assistant City Administrator, Athanasia Lewis <br /> <br /> <br />II. ITEMS OF DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1. 4-Year Mayoral Term <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that from time to time, discussions have taken place regarding the length of <br />the Mayoral term, stating that the City may chose for it to be a two year or a four year term. He stated <br />that the current MayorÓs position would not be extended, but upon the expiration of his term the next <br />election would be for the longer term, if Council chose to lengthen it. <br /> <br />Brief discussion was had and consensus was not to lengthen the term. <br /> <br />2. Board and Commission Vacancies & Appointment Logistics <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that with the ongoing vacancies on both the Parks & Recreation Committee <br />and the Planning & Zoning Commission he wanted to ascertain CouncilÓs input for filling the positions, <br />current interview practices and seating candidates. <br /> <br />Brief discussion was had and consensus was not to modify current practices. <br /> <br />3.
