ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />Quad Area Chamber Calendar <br />April 27, 2033 – Nosh & Networking - Welcome to Quad Area <br />– 4PM-7PM – Blue Heron Grill <br />May 17, 2023 – Sip & Learn for Seniors – Rookery Activity <br />Center – 10:30AM. <br />May 18, 2023 – Senior Expo – 10AM-1PM – St. Genevieve <br />Parish Center in Centerville. <br />Quad Lunch-N-Learn Event Highlights – More than twenty people attended this event, held on <br />th <br />Wednesday, April 19at the Centerville Fire Station (attached to City Hall). The Lunch & Learn focused <br />on Anoka County’s workforce. Tim O’Neill, the Regional Labor Market Analyst for the Minnesota <br />Department of Employment and Economic Development(DEED), shared some great information about <br />labor trends in the county and their impact on local businesses. Many of local businesses were present and <br />confirmed that they are experiencing a tight labor market, due to rapid growth in the county. <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br />TheEDA received a draft of theDowntown Redevelopment Market Studyand the consultant gave a <br />th <br />presentation at theboard’s April 19meeting. EDA members provided feedback and a revised reportwill <br />be presented to the councilin May. Also presented, as partof the draft report were the results of the <br />community survey. Belowis a word-cloud representation of people’s responses to what they’d like to see <br />for retail options in the city. <br /> <br />
