CITY OF CENTERVILLEREQUEST FOR ACTION Agenda Item # Department: RequestedMeetingDate: May 2, 2023 Planning VII.3 TITLE OF ISSUE: Planning and Zoning Commissioner Candidate - Linda Broussard-Vickers BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: The city is in receipt of a request for consideration of a candidate to fill one of the two open seats on the Planning and Zoning Commission. Linda Broussard-Vickers has offered to be a part of the commission begining in June or July with the a commitment through December. Ms. Broussard-Vickers is a resident of Centerville, but winters in the south for several months. Given the fact that the commission is down two members and Ms. Broussard-Vickers has previous experience on the commission, staff recommends considering this offer. Ms. Broussard-Vickers does not wish to chair the committee as she has in the past, such that her potentially temporary position would be less disruptive. She is also willing to step down should two qualified candidates step forward. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: N/A REQUESTED ACTION: Motion to recommend appointment of Linda Broussard-Vickers to the Planning and Zoning Commission, waiving the requirement for a formal application, given Ms. Broussard-Vickers recent participation on the commission.
