CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />Resolution 423-0 <br />A Resolution Calling for a Public Hearing <br />WHEREAS, by a resolution passed by the council on December 14, 2022, the City Clerk was <br />directed to prepare a proposed assessment of the cost of an improvement for the 2022 Thin Mill & <br />Overlay Project improving the roadways/streets: within Hunter's Crossing 2nd and 3rd Additions, <br />Pheasant Marsh 1st 2nd and 3rd Additions, Dupre Road — from Partridge Place to a point 200 feet <br />north of Center Street and progress Road — north of Main Street, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk has notified the council that such proposed assessment has been <br />completed and filed in her office for public inspection, <br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney advises that several parcel owners may not have been notified of <br />the previous assessment hearing held on January 25, 2023. The parcels which may not have <br />received notice are limited to the following: <br />1617 Dupre Road — PIN 923-31-22-33-0062 <br />1644 Dupre Road — PIN 926-31-22-22-0015 <br />1694 Dupre Road — PIN #26-31-22-22-0020 <br />1715 Dupre Road — PIN #23-31-22-34-0005 <br />1640 Widgeon Circle — PIN #23-31-22-33-0058 <br />WHEREAS, the action necessary to correct this potential defect is to reassess the aforementioned <br />properties by holding another assessment hearing where each of these owners are afforded notice <br />of this hearing. This reassessment is authorized under Minn. Stat. §429.071, subd. 2, and is limited <br />to the reassessment of the cost of improvements only to these impacted parcels. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CENTERVILLE, <br />MINNESOTA: <br />1. A hearing shall be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 24, 2023, in the city hall located at 1880 Main <br />Street, Centerville, Minnesota to pass upon such proposed assessment. All persons owning <br />property affected by such improvement will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to <br />such assessment. <br />2. The city clerk is hereby directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed assessment <br />to be published once in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing, and she shall <br />state in the notice the total cost of the improvement. She shall also cause mailed notice to be given <br />to the owner of each parcel described in the assessment roll not less than two weeks prior to the <br />hearing. <br />3. The owner of any property so assessed may, at any time prior to certification of the <br />assessment to the county auditor, pay the whole of the assessment on such property, with interest <br />
