Proposal for Geotechnical Evaluation 1737 Main Street, Centerville, MN May 3, 2023 • Subgrade preparation recommendations and procedures; • Recommendations for proposed foundation system(s), including bearing capabilities of sub -soils encountered based on the recommended foundation type and corresponding bearing elevation; • Foundation settlement analysis for expected loading conditions, including total and differential settlement; • Frost design requirement; • Active, at -rest, and passive earth pressures for loading dock and retaining wall design, if applicable; • Coefficient of friction against sliding at the base of foundations; • Vertical Subgrade modulus; • Slab -on -grade recommendations (base course type / thickness, and Subgrade modulus); • Recommended guidelines for compacted fill; • Estimated seismic Site classification; • Recommended flexible and rigid pavement design thicknesses; • Stability of cut slopes and temporary excavation support; and • Surface and subsurface drainage considerations. Our geotechnical engineering report will also include a boring location plan, boring logs with soil classifications, field and laboratory test results, and procedures used in sampling and laboratory testing. C4L91-11 Our lump sum cost to complete the outlined scope of services is broken out as follows: Task 1 - Exploratory Drilling and Sampling Program (One Day) (exploration layout/coordination, soil borings, sampling, and field oversight) $ 5,900 Task 2: Laboratory Testing $ 2,000 Task 3: Geotechnical Report 3,000 Total for Geotechnical Services: $ 10,900 SCHEDULE VIEAU/GZA will begin performing our proposed scope of work upon receipt of a signed proposal. Based on current drilling schedules, it will require approximately two weeks to schedule the drill rig for the geotechnical work. We assume we will have unhindered Site access to the areas needed. One (1) day of drilling is anticipated. We will receive laboratory results approximately two weeks after they are submitted under normal turnaround. The Geotechnical Engineering Report will be provided approximately two weeks following explorations and laboratory testing. REQUESTED INFORMATION For this Scope of Services, we request that Centerville provide us with the following in order to meet the Schedule above: • A Site base plan (in reproducible and in AutoCAD 2018 electronic format) with topography, utilities, and conceptual Site layout; • Contact names and telephone numbers for facility and key project personnel for coordination during the utility clearance of the exploration program and to schedule field activities; and • Access to the boring locations. 3
