CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: May 24, 2023 Administration IX.2 TITLE OF ISSUE: Resolution 23-0XX Establishing No Parking Zones (New and Existing) BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: With the extension of Fairview Street, the construction of Michaud Way and the reconstruction of streets downtown, it became appropriate to revisit the city's no parking zones. Attached is a table and map showing existing and proposed no parking areas. The Planning & Zoning Commission discussed and held a public hearing on the issue. The minutes of those meetings are attached. Although no public comments were offered during the public hearing, a local landowner subsequently submitted his thoughts on the matter (also attached). The comments stem from discussions regarding trucks queuing on Main Street, waiting to enter the property. One of the options to solve this issue involves allowing on-street parking in our industrial district.
