CHAPTER71:PARKINGREGULATIONS <br />Section <br /> 71.01 Parking prohibitions <br /> 71.02 Towing of Illegally Parked Vehicles <br /> 71.99 Penalty <br />§ 71.01 PARKING PROHIBITIONS. <br />(A) Every vehicle parked upon any street with a curb shall be parked parallel to the curb and with the right- <br />hand wheels of the vehicle within 12 inches of the curb. On other streets, a vehicle shall be parked to <br />the right of the main traveled portion thereof and parallel thereto and in a manner as not to interfere with <br />the free flow of traffic. These requirements shall not apply, however, to any vehicle disabled upon any <br />street, but any police officer may require the person in charge thereof to move it to a place of safety, and <br />if the movement is not made or if any motor vehicle is left alone or abandoned in that position, the <br />officer may provide for the removal of the vehicle to the nearest convenient garage or other place of <br />safekeeping. <br /> <br />(B) No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic <br />or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic-control device, in any of the following <br />places: <br /> <br />(1) On a sidewalk; <br />(2) In front of a public or private driveway; <br />(3) Within an intersection; <br />(4) Within ten feet of a fire hydrant; <br />(5) On a crosswalk; <br />(6) Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection; <br />(7) Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing beacon, stop sign or traffic-control signal <br />located at the side of the roadway; <br />(8) Between a safety zone, unless a different length is indicated by signs or markings; <br />(9) Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station and, on the side of the street opposite <br />the entrance to the fire station, within 75 feet of the entrance when properly sign-posted; <br />(10) Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when the stopping, standing or <br />parking would obstruct traffic; <br />(11) In the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street; or <br />(12) At any place where official signs prohibit stopping. <br /> <br />(C) No person shall, for camping purposes, leave or park a house trailer on any street or the right-of-way <br />thereof. <br /> <br />61 |Page <br /> <br />
