CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: August 9, 2023 Parks & Recreation TITLE OF ISSUE: Purchase & Placement of an Additional Park Bench within Eagle Park Facing the Playstructure, west of Dupre BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: The committee has received several requests to add an additional park bench to Eagle Park. The committee discussed the cost of the purchase, installation and considered the need. Discussion ensued regarding recent donations received from Kwik Trip and the Centerville Lions which could offset the costs. It was also suggested that reach out to several residents who have shown interest in donating to the same installation. The desired location for the bench will receive the Public Works Director's approval with consideration of the Committee's input and resident suggestion. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: $2,000 Parks Capital Fund REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Motion to approve the Parks & Recreation Committee recommendation to purchase and install an additional park bench at Eagle Park in an amount not to exceed $2,000.
