After all the pomp and circumstance, the board will be tasked with considering the 2024 budget for the
department and a review of the tri-city funding formula. If youÓre a firefighter, you certainly donÓt want to have a fire be the first time you enter a large
commercial or industrial building. With Amazon, the need for these walk-throughs is amplified by the size
and complexity of the building and its operations. At their last training session, the fire department had an
opportunity do some reconnaissance and emergency planning from inside the Amazon Facility. Also
important is for the department to explore the various locations around the building where hydrants are
available and where the best position for their trucks would be under different circumstances. As you can
imagine, this all takes a lot of work and expertise. We are fortunate to have a professional department with
the skills and personnel necessary to serve both our new and existing businesses so well.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Block 7 Property (Downtown)
Kennedy Property Development
At the July 26 city council meeting, council discussed development on Block 7.
