CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />Res. #23-0___ <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY PARTICIPATION IN RESOLVINGPRIVATE <br />STORM DRAINAGE PROBLEMS <br />ÐSTORM DRAINAGE GRANT PROGRAMÑ <br />WHEREAS, there are areas in the city where grades are inadequate to properly drain <br />residential properties resulting in standing water and unusable yards, and <br />WHEREAS, the drainage problems are usually through no fault of the property owners, and <br />WHEREAS, some of these circumstances can be alleviated through installation of drain <br />tile systems or other drainage facilities installed in the drainage easements that exist on, and <br />in the vicinity of a property, and <br />WHEREAS, these problems can be wholly contained on an individual property but often <br />affect numerous properties and cannot be effectively resolved by any one property owner, and <br />WHEREAS, even though these problems are often cosmetic and do not present a danger <br />of property damage through flooding, the public good is served by removing standing water and <br />the associated nuisances. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CENTERVILLE, <br />MINNESOTA: <br />1)The Council authorizes the ÐStorm Drainage Grant Program.Ñ <br />2)Purpose of the Storm Drainage Grant Program <br />a.The purpose of this Program is to financially assist residential property owners with <br />remediation projects intended to fix ineffective stormwater drainage impacting <br />their property. <br />3)Eligibility <br />a.Residential parcels with an existing principal structure that is negatively impacted <br />by inadequate drainage; and causing standing water, unusable yards, uncontrolled <br />run-off, or other problems directly related to inadequate stormwater drainage. <br />4)Program Funds <br />a.Grant Funding <br />i.Available grant funds annually: $20,000. <br />ii.Grant Award. The City shall share in paying 25% of the cost of a <br />remediation project (up to a maximum of $5,000) per parcel. <br />Њ <br />ĻƩƭźƚƓ ЉБΉЊБΉЋЉЋЌΏЊ <br /> <br />
