Love and City Council
You know me. I am Pat Branch 1618 Hunters Ridge Lane. I also own the adjacent lot 6744 Beaver Pond Way. I have had a garden on that lot
for 15 years. I want to put a garden shed on the lot at 6744 Beaver Pond Way. There is no home or primary building on the Beaver Pond Way
lot.

Although I have not been able to find it, I understand that I can not build an auxiliary building on a lot without a primary building. I also
understand that the City Council is considering changing that ordinance, Please make that change.

I understand that I can ask for a waiver to the ordinance and that the waiver fee could range from $60 to as much as $500 dollars.

I sincerely doubt that the council members who wrote that ordinance intended it to preclude the building of a small garden shed. In fact many of
my neighbors have very nice auxiliary building and some have multiple buildings. Why should I be denied the same opportunity just because I
choose to use that lot for my garden?

Enforcement of the current ordinance and the fees for a waiver are arbitrary, unjust, and unfair.

Attached is a photo of a building similar to what I want. I have not selected a building because of this ordinance prohibition. This lot, like all lots
in this subdivision, is graded to accommodate walk out basements. My garden is on the lower part of the lot and not visible from the
street, The shed I would build would not be on a permanent foundation and no more that 10ÓW x 12ÓL x 10Ó H. I have spoken to my neighbors
and they have no objections to garden shed on the lower part of my lot.

Perhaps a compromise to the existing ordinance would be set a minimum size required for a permit. If the Council sets a minimum size
smaller than I have suggested, I will comply with that size

Respectfully submitted
Patrick Branch
703-501-6815

1
