If you have any recent resolutions that you have passed or a map of what your proposing for no parking areas, this will
help us review these areas. We will also compare the new resolutions to the older resolutions to verify consistency. If
the signs were not put up once the resolutions were approved at the City level, we can review the situations and
continue to move forward with signing these routes.
We are not charging the City of Lino for the no parking signs materials or the install on Lake Drive. Its our County
Highway so we are paying for these signs. County installs the signs and posts.
Thanks,
Jerry
From: Mark Statz <MStatz@centervillemn.com>
Sent: Tuesday, September 26, 2023 4:04 PM
To: Jerry Auge <Jerry.Auge@anokacountvmn.Rov>
Cc: Paul Palzer<ppalzer@centervil_lemn.com>
Subject: No Parking on Main St - Centerville
EXTERNAL EMAIL ALERT This message originated from outside the Anoka County email system. Use Caution when
clicking hyperlinks, downloading pictures or opening attachments.
Jerry,
Recently, the City Council adopted a resolution naming all of our no parking areas in town. Most of the areas named
were already designated no parking zones on previous resolutions. The new resolution simply consolidated them all in
one document. This was done, partly in reaction to some issues we had with a business whose semi -trucks were staking
up on Main Street (CSAH 14). When we noticed the stacking issue, I immediately wondered why the area was not
signed for no parking, even though we had designated it as such, several years prior.
So the questions are: Does the county install no parking signs at no cost to the city? Does the county instali them, but
the city pays for them? Does the city pay for and install them, with permission from the County?
One way or another, we'd like to get Main Street signed for no parking, at least in areas where there is room on the
shoulder to park, without encroaching on the drive lanes.
Let me know and we'll take the necessary steps to get this done.
Thanks.
Mark Statz, PE
City Administrator/Engineer
City of Centerville
1880 Main St.
Centerville, MN 55038
4: 651-429-3232
D: 651-792-7931
C: 651-775-5126
mstatzcentervi Ilemn.com
www.centervillemn.com
