City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br />September 20, 2023 <br />2. Business Appreciation Event <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet. Discussion ensued about <br />event logistics. The EDA approved a budget of up to $1,500 for the event to cover the cost of food, <br />prizes, and promotional item(s) to handout at the event. <br />Motion by President Remillard and seconded by Commissioner Mosher to approve a budget <br />of up to $1,500 for the business appreciation event. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br />1. Trunk or Treat <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet. Discussion ensued <br />about ways to support this event. There was no consensus among board members, and two <br />motions failed due to no second. The EDA concluded that donating funds toward items for the <br />event falls outside of the scope and mission of the EDA. <br />Motion by Commissioner Swenson to participate in the Trunk or Treat event by having a <br />trunk at the event. Motion failed due to lack of a second. <br />Motion by Commissioner Mosher to donate $200 toward face painting and/or a balloon artist <br />and $400 to participate in the event by decorating a trunk. Motion failed due to lack of a <br />second. <br />2. October EDA Meeting <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet. Discussion ensued and <br />th <br />the EDA moved their meeting to October 17 since President Remillard will be out of town on <br />th <br />October 18. <br />Motion by Commissioner Swenson, seconded by President Remillard to move the October <br />18th EDA meeting to October 17th. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />X. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Commissioner Swenson, seconded by Commissioner Smith to adjourn the <br />September 20, 2023, Economic Development Authority meeting at 8:14 p.m. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br />3 <br /> <br />
