City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br />October 17, 2023 <br />EDA could ask other city boards and commission to review. The board selected the following <br />priorities from the report (page 7) for review: <br /> <br />1. Maximize access and views to Centerville Lake (priority 1) Î Review by P&Z <br />2. Consider working with the school district to develop the Centerville Elementary School <br />parking lot (priority 4) Î Review by city engineer & city council. <br />3. Transition residential densities to put higher density developments closer to the <br />Intersection of Main Street and Centerville Road (priority 5) Î Review by P&Z <br />4. Partner with a planning firm to update traffic management, streetscape guidelines, and <br />pedestrian plans for development in downtown (priority 6) Î Review by P&Z & city <br />council. <br />Motion by Commissioner Mosher to request that the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />review the following priorities: Maximize access and views to Centerville Lake; Transition <br />residential densities to put higher density developments closer to the Intersection of Main <br />Street and Centerville Road; and Partner with a planning firm to update traffic <br />management, streetscape guidelines, and pedestrian plans for development in downtown and <br />that the city council consider working with the school district to develop the Centerville and <br />Elementary School parking lot. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br />1. Reports to the EDA <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet. Discussion ensued about <br />prior reports, current reporting, and future reporting. Commissioner Smith provided an overview <br />of a report that he prepared for the boardÓs review. <br /> <br />2. Goals & Priorities for 2024 <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet. The 2023 goals were <br />reviewed, and discussion ensued about further developing existing goals and expanding 2024 goals <br />to include Business retention and expansion, business engagement, and review of EDA programs. <br />Staff will present a draft of the goals at next monthÓs meeting. <br /> <br />3. Annual Report to City Council <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet. Discussion ensued about <br />the format of this yearÓs report. The EDA would like to incorporate information from the <br />Downtown Redevelopment Market Study as well as program information, number of new <br />businesses, etc. Staff will provide a draft report of the goals at the next meeting. <br /> <br />4. December 20 EDA Meeting <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Smith, seconded by President Remillard to start the November <br />thth <br />15 meeting at 5:30p.m. and to cancel the December 20 meeting.
