City of Centerville <br />City Council & Closed Exec. Session Meeting Minutes <br />October 11, 2023 <br />Mayor Love asked for an update on the installation of the parking lot lights and Administrator Statz <br />stated that the lights had not been received to date. <br /> <br />Council Reports <br /> <br />a. Taylor – <br /> Parks & Recreation - Council Member Taylor stated that the Committee discussed the <br />Movie in the Park event, contract recommendation to Council in regarding to the 5/8K and <br />kids runs for 2024, the open space tree inventory in preparation for a Tree Plan, bird nesting <br />deterrents for the pavilions, items for use at the two Skate/Sled nights, a contest to name a <br />snowplow, the upcoming Trunk or Treat Event, Snow Removal recommendations for trails <br />and sidewalks, request for trail closure for the west side of the Elementary School property, <br />prioritizing goals prior to the beginning of the year and they were informed that the Council <br />had approved the Lions request for use of LaMotte Park for their Annual Christmas in the <br />Park event. <br /> <br />b. Koski – <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated that most items were <br />already discussed. <br /> Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski stated that the meeting would be the <br />following evening which the large discussion being amount of fire trucks for replacement <br />and amounts. <br /> <br />c. Vacant – <br /> <br />d. Mosher – <br /> Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br /> Police Governing Board – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br /> <br />e. Love – <br /> North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Love <br /> Police Governing Board – Mayor Love reported that discussions already took place <br />regarding the formula utilized in the JPA for funding and stated that Corporal Krueger was <br />retiring in the next month and the public thanks him for his service. <br /> Other Mayoral Reports – Mayor Love reported that the League of MN Cities Mayor for <br />the Day competition had started and was excited to see if any of the Elementary aged <br />children from Centerville Elementary would enter. He stated that Amazon was now and <br />welcomed them to the community. He stated that the Centerville Cares program was <br />highlighted twice a month in the Administrator’s Report. He stated that the program <br />provides helpful information regarding program availability to Centerville residents. <br /> <br />XI. RECESS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />Mayor Love recessed the Regularly scheduled City Council meeting at 8:18 p.m. stating that Council would <br />be taking a five (5) minute break in between sessions. <br /> <br />CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
