<br />Approved <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION, COUNCIL MEETING AND CLOSED EXECUTIVE <br />SESSION <br />DECEMBER 13, 2023 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled City <br />Council Meeting on January 10, 2024, in Council Chambers and the meeting was live streamed by <br />North Metro TV at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />WORK SESSION <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor D. Love called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />ROLL CALL <br />PRESENT: Mayor D. Love <br /> Council Member Russ Koski <br /> Council Member Darrin Mosher <br /> Council Member Raye Taylor (via telephone – non-voting) <br /> Council Member Terry Sweeney <br /> Junior Council Member Rowan Shaw (non-voting) <br /> <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />STAFF: City Administrator, Mark Statz <br /> Assistant City Administrator, Athanasia Lewis <br /> Finance Director, Bruse DeJong <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />II. ITEMS OF DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1. Junior Councilmember interview – the council interviewed Avery Sauber for the Junior <br />Council member seat on council. Avery is a junior at Centennial High School. Her plans <br />include attending a four-year college out of state where she can play lacrosse. She would <br />like to study biology and minor in philosophy. Medical school and/or graduate school are <br />also on her radar. <br />Avery leads the debate team at school and participates in mock trials with practicing <br />attorneys and judges. She is also a lacrosse coach and tutor. Issues that are important to her <br />include: urban development, economic development, and education – Avery is interested <br />in how the city will evolve, and she would like to see more businesses in town. <br /> <br />2.
