<br />AdministratorÓs Report <br /> <br />January 24, 2024 <br />City Council <br />Jr. Councilmember Avery Sauber was sworn into office on <br />January 10, 2024. After taking her oath, Jr. Councilmember <br />Avery Sauber was seated next to the council, where she <br />participated in her first meeting as part of the Centerville City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Welcome aboard Jr. Councilmember Avery Sauber. We look <br />forward to working with you this year! <br /> <br />CENTERVILLE CARES <br />January is National Blood <br />Donor Month <br />January is National Blood Donor <br />Month, which has been <br />recognized every year since 1970. <br />Raising awareness about blood <br />donation is important, because a single donation can save lives. <br /> <br />Per AmericaÓs Blood Centers, the national organization bringing together community-based, independent <br />blood centers, only three (3) percent of the U.S. population donates blood annually, and a blood transfusion <br />occurs every two seconds. <br /> <br />The American Red Cross recognizes that winter months are an especially difficult time of year for blood <br />collection, due to busy holiday schedules, inclement weather, and seasonal illnesses. <br /> <br />Ways you can observe National Blood Donor Month <br />1. Donate now and every couple of months afterward <br />2. Inspire people to create an exponential increase in blood donations <br />3.
