City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreation Meeting Minutes <br />November 1, 2023 <br />Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Akpan to <br />recommend to City Council to approve the Request and provide Mr. Schmitt with a key for <br />access to lighting and the warming house, if no attendant is on site, along the submission of a <br />schedule of use. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VII. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br /> <br />VIII. UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Staff Updates <br /> <br />a. Eagle Park Bench <br /> <br />The bench has been received. The weather and staff availability will dictate it installation. <br /> <br />b. The Hydration/Water Stations <br /> <br />The contactor has been extremely busy and is unsure whether the installation will occur this year. <br /> <br />c. Cornerstone Park <br /> <br />Public Works staff has removed some smaller bushes and replaced sod in those areas. Preparation <br />for the center planting area for Spring plantings has been completed. <br /> <br />d. Trailside Park <br /> <br />The City will be contracting for the removal of the Willow tree during the winter. <br /> <br />e. Community Education Halloween Hustle <br /> <br /> <br />This event was held on Saturday, October 28and was successful with 171 runners and 20 volunteers. <br /> <br />f. Letters from the Forest Lake area YMCA <br /> <br />Letters of appreciation were received from Mr. Glen Gunderson, President and Mr. Bruce Thompson, <br />a Board Member, for the donation of $500 from the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />g.
