City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 10, 2024 <br />Assistant City Administrator Lewis that she had been in contact with Max Storage and several others <br />regarding EDA offerings (i.e. Center Stage, Grand Openings/Ribbon Cuttings, etc.) which will be <br />forthcoming. She also reminded Council of their upcoming Goal Setting/Retreat Session scheduled for <br />February 3, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 in the Oneka Room of the Hugo City Hall. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />Junior Council Member Sauber that finals were coming up and winter break was just over. She stated <br />that the National Honor Society was having their inductions in the upcoming week. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser reported that his office has been working with the new officers and is excited to <br />see the department grow. <br /> <br />a. Taylor – <br />(i) Economic Development Authority - Council Member Taylor gave no report. <br /> <br />b. Koski – He pointed out the offerings of the Anoka County Library. He thanked the public safety <br />departments for their services and stated that he had attended an Anoka County Public Officials <br />meeting. He stated that he would be happy to provide an update to anyone who wished to receive <br />an update. He thanked the Centennial Lakes Police Department and recognized National Law <br />Enforcement Day. <br />(i) Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated that they swore in Dawn <br />Kalina and along with the appoint of Commissioners Krueger as Chair and Olson as Vice- <br />Chair. He wanted to thank Les Kuiper for serving on the Commission as he recently moved <br />from town and resigned. He stated that a large discussion was the LaLonde Project. <br />(ii) Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski gave no report. <br /> <br />c. Sweeney - <br />(i) Economic Development Authority – Council Member Sweeney gave no report. <br />(ii) Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Sweeney gave no report. <br />(iii) Parks & Recreation Committee – Council Member Sweeney gave no report. <br />(iv) Fire Protection Council – Council Member Sweeney gave no report. <br /> <br />d. Mosher – <br />(i) Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br />(ii) Police Governing Board – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br /> <br />e. Love – Mayor Love stated that he would be announcing the High School Basketball game in the <br />upcoming week. He thanked Ms. Dawn Kalina for joining the P & Z along with thanking Misters <br />Quaintance and Bill Kapphahn for assisting with offsetting fees associated with the installation of <br />the new park bench at Eagle Park. He also thanked outgoing Jr. Council Member Shaw for his <br />services and welcomed Avery Sauber as this year’s Jr. Council Member. He also thanked all <br />Council Members for their service and that the City would not be what it is without them. He also <br />thanked Staff. He stated that 2023 was a great year and that he was looking forward to 2024. <br />(i) North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Love stated that NSPN (sports <br />programming) has been very popular and enabled funding through the National Sports Center. He stated <br />that City meetings were now podcasted. He stated that they are providing transcripts of meetings, <br />Executive Director Arnson was retiring, and he wanted to thank her for the job that she has done.
