CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: February 14, 2024 Administration/P & R Committee VII.4 TITLE OF ISSUE: Revitalization/Annual Maintenance of Hidden Spring Park Rain Garden & Shoreline BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Staff obtained two quotes (Prairie Restoration & RJ's Property Maintenance) for the revitalization and annual maintenance of the rain garden/shoreline in Hidden Spring Park. Prairie Restoration is highly recommended in this field and their quote is $7,770 for 2024 and $1,425 for 2025. They do contain an option for volunteers assistance with plantings and the ability to save $785 if utilized. RJ's Property Maintenance is the city's current vendor for lawn services and quoted $17,150 for the same scope of work. The Parks & Recreation Committee discussed the item at their February 7, 2024 regular meeting. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: $7,770 for 2024 and $1,425 for 2025; Alternate to save $785 w/volunteers - Park Maintenance Budget REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Motion to accept the recommendation of the Parks & Recreation Committee and authorizing staff to enter into a contract with Prairie Restoration as presented in an amount not to exceed $9,195 w/option for saving $785 for providing volunteers.
