The following was offered as a description of the endeavor: <br />Summaryofthecontextforthisworkshopseries: <br />Communitiesrelyonsufficient,reliable,andsafewatersupplyforhealth,prosperity,and <br />thefunctionoflocalecosystems.Thisisnotagiven,butisparamount.Theregionasa <br />wholeisexpectedtogrowbymorethan600,000peopleby2050,theclimateischanging, <br />andnewissuesresultingfromhumanimpactscontinuetoemergethathavethepotential <br />tofurtherinfluencethequalityandquantityofwateravailablefordrinkingwatersupply. <br />Withexistingsupplyconstraintsandchallengesaswellasaforecastofcontinuedgrowth, <br />nowisthetimetothoughtfullyandcollaborativelyplantoensureasafeandsustainable <br />waterƭǒƦƦƌǤΓŅƚƩindividualcommunities,ecosystems,theregion,andfuture <br />generations. <br />Fromlate2023intoearly2024,theMetropolitanCouncilwillbeengagingstakeholders <br />whoimpactandareimpactedbywatersupplydecisionsonasubmetroregionscale.In <br />collaborationwithaCoreTeamoflocalwaterresourceleadersfromtheNortheastMetro, <br />atwoworkshopseriesisbeingplannedtocreatespaceforlocallydrivencreationofMetro <br />AreaWaterSupplyPlancontent.Thehopeistobuildasharedvisionforwatersupplyin <br />theNortheastMetro,prioritizeissuesandopportunities,anddevelopanactionplanto <br />addressthem.Then,withaplaninhandandrelationshipsenhancedthroughtheplanning <br />process,wewillworkcollaborativelywithinandbeyondtheNortheastMetrosubregion <br />tosecureasustainablewaterfutureforhumansandecosystemsalike. <br /> <br />These workshops and the resulting water supply plan will have wide-ranging and important influence on <br />water supply policies, regulations, and outcomes. While protecting our clean water resources is of utmost <br />importance, it is important that we engage in these conversations to ensure future actions result in equitable <br />rules for all of our constituents and donÓt unduly hinder development or influence city planning. <br /> <br />CENTENNIAL LAKES POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Year-end Financials <br />As the final bills from 2023 are being paid, our early estimates indicate that CLPD will end the year around <br />5% under budget. Like many police departments, we spent much of the year understaffed, finding it difficult <br />to fill open spots.
