City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />March 13, 2024 <br />regarding non-transport calls where interventions have been delivered by their state, which may provide <br />time for alternative resources (i.e., primary doctor contact, transport on own, etc.) <br /> <br />Discussion also ensued regarding billing, lack of tax subsidies, non-transports not being billable, but <br />Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance, if transported, can be charged and how the processes/fees for <br />services. Several questions were answered (i.e. employee status – close to being fully staffed; what the <br />city could provide for in additional assistance – appreciative for relationship and the opportunities to <br />connect with the community - participation in Trunk or Treat, Touch a Truck and Main Street Market, <br />Kids Night. Additional discussion regarding their employment of Clayton, an EMS Facility dog. <br /> <br />2. Resignation of Planning Commissioner <br /> a) Linda Broussard Vickers <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that Ms. Broussard Vickers volunteered to serve until the vacancies were filled <br />on the commission by others who were interested. He stated that her numerous years of serving, both in <br />the capacities of Planning & Zoning Commission Member and Council Member provided a wealth of <br />knowledge. Mayor Love stated that he desired to thank her for her service as she has stepped up several <br />times to serve and assist the community. Council Member Koski echoed the Mayor’s sentiments. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Sweeney to Accept the <br />Resignation of Planning Commissioner Linda Broussard Vickers as Presented. All in favor. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />3. Appointment of Planning and Zoning Commissioners <br /> a) Matthew McCabe <br /> b) Jeannie Seppala <br /> <br />Mayor Love felt that the two appointments could be handled as one motion. Council Liaison Koski <br />reported that the Commission had interviewed three candidates with, the two of them being recommended <br />by the Commission to Council for appointment. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Taylor, seconded by Council Member Mosher to Appoint Matthew <br />McCabe and Jeannie Seppala, as Recommended by the Commission, to the Commission. All in <br />favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. Appointment of Parks and Recreation Committee Member <br /> a) Katya Port <br /> <br />Council Liaison Sweeney stated that the Committee interviewed Katya Port and stated that she would <br />bring a good perspective to the Committee as she is very mindful of park amenities, repairs, etc. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Sweeney, seconded by Council Member Taylor to Appoint Katya Port, <br />as Recommended by the Committee, to the Committee.
