General: Any Employee absent from duty without leave or permission will be subject to <br />disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. Unauthorized absence from work may <br />be considered a resignation without notice and not in good standing. <br />6.9 Solicitation <br />General: Solicitation by Employees for any purpose is prohibited during working hours. <br />This shall include canvassing, collection of funds, pledges, taking orders or subscriptions, <br />circulation of petitions, solicitation of memberships or any similar type of activity. <br />Distribution of literature by Employees including handbills, leaflets, circulars, or other <br />similar material is prohibited at any time in any work area. <br />7. HOLIDAYS <br />7.1 General <br />Eligibility: Regular full-time Employees are eligible for the paid holidays as listed below. <br />Part-time, seasonal, and temporary Employees will not be eligible for holiday pay. <br />7.2 Holidays <br />New Year's Day <br />January 1 <br />Martin Luther King's Birthday <br />Third Monday in January <br />President's Day <br />Third Monday in February <br />Memorial Day <br />Last Monday in May <br />Juneteenth <br />June 19 <br />Independence Day <br />July 4 <br />Labor Day <br />First Monday in September <br />Veterans Day <br />November 11 <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Fourth Thursday in November <br />Fourth Friday <br />Friday after Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Day <br />December 25 <br />Floating Holiday <br />Date to be pre -approved. <br />Sunday/Saturday Holidays: If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following day will be the <br />observed holiday. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding day will be the observed <br />holiday. <br />Floating Holiday: Each regular full-time employee will receive one floating holiday per <br />year, and it may be taken at the request of the Employee, with prior approval of the <br />Employee's Supervisor. Floating holiday may be taken during the probationary period. <br />An unused floating holiday shall be forfeited and may not be carried over to the next <br />payroll year nor paid as severance. <br />7.3 Holiday Pay <br />Worked: An Employee required to work on a holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and <br />one-half (1'/2) times the Employee's rate of pay for any hours worked on the holiday. All <br />regular full-time employees shall receive eight hours of pay for the holiday. <br />Page 15 of 60 <br />
