COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />Res. #24-0_4y <br />COMPENSATION FOR THE JUNIOR COUNCIL MEMBER POSITION <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville has had a long-standing relationship with the Centennial <br />School District and the city continues to strengthen that relationship; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2021, the city created a Junior Council Member program, because the council <br />feels that the life experiences of a school -aged person offer diversity in their perspectives; and <br />WHEREAS, the Junior Council Member program has continued to evolve and in 2022 <br />compensation for attending meetings was added to the program; and <br />WHEREAS, compensation is paid for attending all city council meetings (excluding closed <br />executive sessions); and <br />WHEREAS, compensation is not paid for missed city council meetings, committee meetings, or <br />other city -related meetings; and <br />WHEREAS, attendance at other city -related meetings or events is encouraged, however, it is not <br />required; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Centerville, <br />hereby specifies that compensation shall be provided only for regularly scheduled city council <br />meetings. <br />Passed by the City Council of the City of Centerville this 10th day of April 2024. <br />Mayor, D.
