CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />April 24, 2024 <br />Community Development <br />IX.1 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Resolution 24-0XX Calling for a Public Hearing for the Proposed TIF District in Downtown Centerville <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />The City Council has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Ebert Companies to explore the use <br />of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) in the development of a 90-110 unit, market rate apartment building on the <br />LaLonde property in downtown. The city has also engaged the services of Northland Securities to investigate <br />the feasibility of a TIF district for the project. As part of the TIF process, a public hearing must be held. There <br />are a number of notification and comment periods associated with this hearing, which is why this resolution <br />asks for the hearing to be called for, almost 2 months in advance. <br />A map of the proposed TIF district is attached.
