I am more concerned about the safety of kids from
cars on that side street. It just takes one child running in front of a vehicle to result in a tragedy. There is
no way you can guarantee that this will not happen.

Second point on the increase in traffic. 11000, wow. I know that is an increase from when I moved in.
There is absolutely too much traffic on Main Street alƩĻğķǤ͵ L ķƚƓ͸Ʒ ĭğƩĻ źŅ źƷ źƭ ƚƓƌǤ Њі ƚƩ Ќі͵ LƷ͸ƭ
ridiculous that the city does not seem to care. How much did Amazon increase traffic, especially
semis? Any increase in traffic, on top of way too much traffic, is too much. What are you doing to
address this? It is noisy, it is dangerous and no one seems to care. We have a hard time leaving our
street on a daily basis.

So I guess that bottom line, the council will approve it despite what the citizens want. I have yet to talk
to anyone that lives in Centerville that supports it. But I know how small towns operate so I know I am
wasting my time sending in comments. Anyone who votes for it will not get my vote in reelection.
Sincerely, Linda Chaffee

February 6, 2024
Response from Mark Statz
ͻ\[źƓķğͲ
Thank you for reaching out with your concerns regarding the proposed development on the LaLonde
property at 1687 Westview Street.
The number of units being proposed (90 to 110) falls wiƷŷźƓ ƷŷĻ ǩƚƓźƓŭ ķźƭƷƩźĭƷ ŭǒźķĻƌźƓĻƭ ƚŅ ЊЋ Α ЍЎ ǒƓźƷƭ
per acre. This zoning is for the downtown Mixed Use district and is aimed at creating a more dense,
retail friendly environment. Your concerns for the neighboring school and its students is certainly top of
mind as we review this project. This compares to the current traffic levels
on Main Street which are in the neighborhood of 11,000 per day. With these trips likely to split in either
direction from Centerville Road, that would leave, say, a 350 trip increase or about 3%.
