City of Centerville <br />City Council Work Session & Meeting Minutes <br />April 24, 2024 <br />Sports Management. She also provided an update on behalf of Jr. Council Member Sauber who <br />stated that prom and AP testing were coming up, that the Centennial Girls Lacrosse were 3-1 and <br />that they would be playing Coon Rapids this evening, that the Spring musical was opening next <br />week, and she was disappointed that she was not in attendance this evening. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />a. Taylor – <br />(i) Economic Development Authority – Council Member Taylor gave no report. <br />(ii) Police Governing Board – Council Member Taylor gave no report. <br /> <br />b. Koski – <br /> (i) Planning & Zoning Commission – Due to absence no report was given. <br /> (ii) Fire Steering Committee – Due to absence no report was given. <br /> <br />c. Sweeney - <br />(i) Fire Steering Committee – Due to absence no report was given. <br />(ii) Parks & Recreation Committee – Due to absence no report was given. <br />(iii) Fire Protection Council – Due to absence no report was given. <br /> <br />d. Mosher – <br />(i) Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher stated that information <br />was given regarding additional marketing opportunities for businesses. Assistant City <br />Administrator Lewis stated that many businesses took advantage of the CenterStage <br />Program early on with participation being minimal in the third year. She stated that she <br />would be bringing additional marketing options for consideration of program <br />modifications. Council Member Mosher stated that discussions took place regarding the <br />downtown beautification with additional information to be brought forward shortly. <br />Council Member Taylor stated that discussion also took place regarding types of projects <br />that they would like to request from Council going forward. <br />(ii) Police Governing Board – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br /> <br />e. Love – Mayor Love stated previously that the Centerville Lions hosted their annual Cadillac <br />Dinner recently and stated that they were turning 50 this year. He congratulated the President, <br />Mr. Ron Hogan, on his award of the Melvin Jones Award. <br />(i) North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Love reported that they <br />would be holding an Emergency meeting to discuss the merger of the Commission even <br />though Centerville had previously discussed that they were not interested in pursuing. He <br />also stated that they created a Centennial Football video chronicling the 2023 Centennial <br />Football season. <br />(ii) Police Governing Board – Mayor Love stated that there would be a meeting on May 13, <br />2024. <br />(iii) Other Mayoral Reports – Mayor Love reported that his email had been recently <br />scammed, the emails were not from his City email and not to respond to them. <br /> <br />XI.
