ENGINEERING TH 20 Avenue (CSAH 54) Corridor Study The study findings were presented to the City Council at their last meeting. A final version of the study document will be in front of the council for final approval at this meeting. Public Works (ContÓd) Water Tower Consulting engineers, KLM, have finished their work in performing some tests on the towerÓs paint to help understand the scope and timing of a repaint. Staff will be discussing the results of that report with the City Council at an upcoming workshop. Public Works Truck Replacements Our long-awaited public works truck (1-Ton) is nearing completion. We anticipate taking delivery next week. After that, we will be sending it out to be outfitted with the dump box and plow assemblies. New Employee Centerville welcomes our newest employee: Alex Barmettler. Alex started last week and has hit the ground running. His previous experience has led him to be a quick learner and we anticpate that he will be ready to handle on-call duties within a few months. Centerville Lake Alum Treatment The Centerville Lake Alum Treatment project is underway. Results should be almost immediate and will become more obvious as the temperatures warm. We are finding that quality candidates are looking for work in communities like ours. We are also welcoming back a part-time officer who has been out with a medical issue and has finally been cleared to work again. All in all, the department is miles ahead of where we were in terms of staffing during the pandemic. Thank you to all of our citizens that support our department. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT 1687 Westview Street (LaLonde Property) A public hearing was held on May 7 in front of the Planning Commission. The hearing was well attended and over 30 people shared their thoughts. The Planning Commission did not take action on the proposed Preliminary Plat and PUD, but plans to consider action at their next meeting, which will be June 4 at 6:30 PM at City Hall. The public hearing for the project was closed at the conclusion of the May 7 meeting, so no further public comment will be taken by the June 4 meeting. However, the meeting is open to the public.
