City of Centerville <br />City Council Work Session & Meeting Minutes <br />May 22, 2024 <br />IV. APPOINTMENT/PRESENTATION <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />V. PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />VI. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES <br /> <br />1. May 8, 2024, City Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for Council to make modifications if needed. Council Member <br />Sweeney requested that the comma be replace with a decimal point on page 2 in the third sentence to the <br />end of the paragraph where it states “$1-2,2”; he requested that the second paragraph on page 3 be <br />reworded along with the addition of “citizens of the public” rather than “no members” in the sentence <br />following the Mayor opening the Board of Appeal and Equalization at 7:45 p.m. He also requested that <br />“in lieu of Mayor” be added to the second paragraph under IV. Approval of the Minutes, 1. April 24, <br />2024, City Council Work Session & Meeting Minutes. He requested that on page 4, the first paragraph <br />the word “would” be replaced with “asked if”, that the first reference of “Staff” in the first sentence of <br />paragraph one under IX. New Business, 1. Grant Pre-Application-Solar on Public Buildings Program – <br />MN Dept. of Commerce be replaced with “Council”, he requested that “depending upon how things <br />were to shake” be removed and add “on structure,” after “depending”. He also requested that “in”, <br />“and” and “for us” be removed from the following sentence in the paragraph. He requested that <br />paragraph two that “sort of” be replace with “so to” in the first sentence, that sentence two be rewritten <br />and that the last sentence the wording “that is utilizing the program” be replaced with “as it is a new <br />program”. He also requested that the stand alone “s” be removed under his report for the Fire Protection <br />Council. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Sweeney, seconded by Council Member Koski to Approve the May 8, <br />2024, with the above stated amendments. 4 Ayes, Council Member Taylor abstained. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />VII. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />1. City of Centerville Claims through May 22, 2024 (Checks #36716-36754 & E2237-E2242) <br />2. Centennial Lakes Police Department Claims through May 9, 2024 (Checks #15205-15227, <br />E2024035-2024040 & Payroll Check 15202-15204) <br />3. Centennial Fire District Claims through May 14, 2024 (Checks #9700-9709 & E24005) <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for members to pull items for additional discussion. Council <br />Member Koski requested Checks #36747, 36758, 15212 & 9707. Mayor Love stated that all items <br />would be pulled as there were checks that were referenced that were in all of the items. <br /> <br />Council Member Koski asked about Check #36747 for engineering fees and whether they were pass <br />through expenditures or internal expenditures. City Administrator Statz stated that the invoice was <br />coded with four different expense accounts with one being punch list items associated with the 2022 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
