RESOLUTION NO. 24-, ,. STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF ANOKA CITY OF CENTERVILE RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS TO CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT CAPITAL OUTLAY FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW FIRE TRUCK WHEREAS, the Centennial Fire District has identified a critical need to replace an aging fire truck; and WHEREAS, the total cost for the new fire truck is $548,000, plus minor commissioning expenses, with $462,000 already secured in the Centennial Fire District Capital Outlay Fund; and WHEREAS, an additional $100,000 has been requested by action of the Centennial Fire District's Fire Steering Committee on July 18, 2024 at their regular meeting, to fully fund the purchase of the new fire truck, with the additional contributions to be split in accordance with the current funding formula identified in the Joint Powers Agreement; and WHEREAS, Centerville's share of the additional funds would be $47,000, according to the funding formula, and WHEREAS, the Joint Powers Agreement for the Centennial Fire District requires authorization from each member city for capital purchases, and WHEREAS, it is imperative to ensure the safety of firefighters and maintain the department's capability to effectively respond to emergencies; NOW THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of Centerville, Minnesota as follows: 1. Transfer of Funds: $47,000 shall be transferred from the reserves of City of Centerville to the Centennial Fire District Capital Outlay Fund. 2. Purpose: The transferred funds shall be used exclusively for the purchase of a new fire truck, as identified by the Fire Department. 3. Authorization of Purchase: The City of Centerville hereby authorizes the Centennial Fire District to purchase the apparatus contemplated by this resolution. 4. Authorization of Transfer: The City of Centerville hereby authorizes and directs the City Administrator to effectuate this transfer of funds immediately upon passage of this resolution. 5. Implementation: Centennial Fire District shall proceed with the purchase of the new fire truck using the transferred funds in accordance with applicable procurement policies and procedures. Any excess funds shall be retained by the district in their capital equipment fund.
