CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />Resolution 424- 11 <br />A Resolution Calling for a Public Bearing <br />WHEREAS the City of Centerville ("City") recognizes significant public interest and concern over <br />the complex nature of regulating the development and operation of development in mixed -use <br />zoning districts. <br />WHEREAS Development in these districts is regulated by the City's Code of Ordinances, <br />Comprehensive Plan, and the Master Plan and Development Guidelines for Downtown Centerville <br />(a.k.a., Downtown Master Plan). New development in these districts must be performed pursuant <br />to a planned unit development. Formal review and study of these governing documents and <br />procedures may improve same, identify apparent conflicts, and clarify ambiguity. Moreover, the <br />Downtown Master Plan, being developed approximately 20 years ago, should be subject to <br />periodic review. <br />WHEREAS Minnesota Statutes Section 462.355 allows the City to adopt a temporary interim <br />ordinance for a period of up to twelve (12) months from the date it is effective, to allow for such <br />study and adoption of the comprehensive plan, zoning and/or other official land use controls in <br />order to protect the public health, safety and general welfare. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CENTERVILLE, <br />MINNESOTA: <br />1. A public hearing shall be held at 6:30 p.m. on , 2024, at <br />Centerville, Minnesota to accept public comment and input on the aforementioned <br />issues related to the study and review of the comprehensive plan, zoning and/or other official <br />land use controls in mixed -use zoning districts, and the applicability of using an interim <br />ordinance to prohibit development during a period of study and review of these topics. <br />2. The city clerk is hereby directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed interim <br />ordinance to be published once in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing. <br />Adopted by the City Council on the 24t' day of July 2024. <br />D.Love, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Teresa Bender, City Clerk <br />
