Just a reminder <br />that city offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day. We <br />th <br />will be back in the office on Fridayl, July 5. <br /> <br />ENGINEERING <br />TH <br />20 Avenue (CSAH 54) Corridor Study <br />The City Council has approved the Corridor <br />Study. Next steps will be to work with the <br />county and the City of Lino Lakes to sync <br />up our respective capital improvement <br />plans so that we can begin budgeting for <br />these improvements, many of which are 5 <br />to 10 years out. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS <br />Water Treatment <br />The city’s public works department <br />recently received accommodation from the <br />Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the <br />Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) <br />for our excellent record in providing <br />consistently healthy levels of fluoride in <br />our water. This award was earned by just <br />61 of the over 600 qualifying water <br />systems in the state. Congrats to our crew <br />on this well-deserved recognition. <br /> <br />Solar on Public Buildings Grant <br />The city received notice from the MN <br />Department of Commerce letting us know <br />that we have been selected to submit a full <br />grant application, after passing the initial <br />stage of the vetting process, which <br />assessed our site readiness. The <br />application is due in late September. If <br />awarded the grant could cover 60% of the <br />costs, up to $72,000, with a federal tax rebate covering a large portion of the remaining 40%. <br /> <br />Water Tower <br />Consulting engineers, KLM, have finished their work in performing some tests on the tower’s paint to help <br />understand the scope and timing of a repaint. Staff will be discussing the results of that report with the City <br />Council at an upcoming workshop. <br /> <br />
