City of Centerville EDA Meeting Minutes July 17, 2024 V. BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS 1. Bills a. Check List Executive Director Lewis reviewed the bills as presented in the packet. Motion by Commissioner Taylor and seconded by Commissioner Swenson to approve the bills. All in favor. Motion carried. 2. Communications a. None VI. PRESENTATION a. None VII. REPORTS 1. Partner Agency Reports a. Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) Executive Director Lewis reviewed the report as presented in the packet. 2. Year to Date Financials Executive Director Lewis reviewed the financial report as presented in the packet. Motion by Commissioner Smith and seconded by Commissioner Swenson to approve the financial report as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. 3. Ongoing Programs: Executive Director Lewis reviewed the Ongoing Programs report as presented in the packet. 4. AdministratorÓs Report Executive Director Lewis reviewed the AdministratorÓs Report as presented in the packet. VIII. OLD BUSINESS 1. Incubator Space/Executive Office Suites Executive Director Lewis introduced the item as presented in the packet. Discussion ensued about the feasibility of executive office suites, i.e., making the investment or letting the market determine future development. Some board members noted that in conversations with the community, people would rather see some type of shop (ice cream/coffee/other) at the 1737 Main Street location. Discussion also ensued about the use of HRA funds and benefit to the community. Investment in th vacant buildings and/or the use of resources toward grocery, shared spaces, mixed use at 20 and Main were also discussed. The consensus was to table the item for the next six to twelve months and then re-evaluate this topic. 2
