CITY OF CENTERVILLEREQUEST FOR ACTION Agenda Item # Department: RequestedMeetingDate: September 3, 2024 Planning and Zoning VI.1 TITLE OF ISSUE: Call for a Public Hearing - Downtown Redevelopment Documents BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: At the August 14 City Council meeting, the Council adopted a Resolution to clear up misalignment of the city's guiding planning documents. The initial step involves clearing up inconsistencies between City Code and the Downtown Master Plan. These changes will aim to clarify, but not reinvent either document. A broader review of the Downtown Master Plan will begin soon, with the guidance of a planning firm and ask force of community stakeholders. Staff recommends the Planning and Zoning Commission call for a public hearing to be held at their October 1 meeting to provide input on proposed changes to the Downtown Master Plan and City Code Chapter 156, related to the M-1 and M-2 districts, aimed at aligning the two documents.
