City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 14, 2024 <br />(ii) Police Governing Board – Council Member Taylor gave no report. <br /> <br />b. Koski – <br /> (i) Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski reported that the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission meeting for the month was cancelled. <br /> <br />(ii) Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski reported that he attended the awards <br />banquet where they introduced the new fire truck and honored firefighters with their <br />awards. He said it was a great event and that he thanked the firefighters, SBC and Circle <br />Pines for the great relationship we have with them. <br /> <br />c. Sweeney – <br />(i) Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Sweeney gave no report. <br />(ii) Parks & Recreation Committee – Council Member Sweeney gave no report. <br /> <br />Administrator Statz gave a report, noting that the Committee reviewed the playground equipment <br />in the existing capital improvement plan and discussed options for replacement. The Committee <br />approved a 15-year schedule, which includes safety improvements as soon as next year. <br /> <br />(iii) Fire Protection Council – Council Member Sweeney noted that discussion on fire service <br />training keeps coming up, noting that there may be some changes through the college. <br /> <br />d. Mosher – <br />(i) Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br />(ii) Police Governing Board – Council Member Mosher reported that two officers were <br />sworn in. <br /> <br />e. Love – Mayor Love stated <br />(i) North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Love gave no report. <br />(ii) Police Governing Board – Mayor Love reported that the 2025 budget was approved with <br />a 3.7% increase. He reported that there was also an introduction of the new community service <br />officer, who has already been to our Main Street Market. Mayor Love reported that we welcomed <br />our new fire truck and awarded a few firefighters with their badges; a number of firefighters also <br />received their years of service awards. <br />(iii) Other Mayoral Reports – Mayor Love thanked Teresa Bender, our city clerk, and our <br />other election judges for running the primary elections. Maor Love reported that there are <br />two more weeks of Main Street Market and fall sports are underway. <br /> <br />XI.
