e teryiffe <br />Estab(ished 185i <br />PARKS & RECREATION <br />Movie in the Park <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee's <br />annual Movie in the Park will take place <br />on September 14. Please join them for <br />free popcorn and lemonade. Please bring <br />a lawn chair, blanket, family and friends. <br />They will be showing "The Garfield <br />Movie". <br />New Parks & Recreation Committee <br />Member <br />The Committee officially swore Ms. <br />Deanna Loomis into the Committee at <br />their September 4, 2024, meeting and <br />welcomed her! <br />Administrator's Report <br />September 11, 2024 <br />Playground Equipment Replacement <br />Plan <br />Staff met with the Parks & Recreation Committee on September 4, 2024, to inform them that Council <br />approved their recommended Playground Equipment Replacement Plan and stated that the City Council <br />authorized a $100,000 transfer from the General Fund to expedite the replacement plan. Staff provided the <br />Committee with this information along with a recommendation for modifying the plan by replacing <br />equipment at Laurie LaMotte Park in 2025 and slightly delaying the replacement of equipment in Royal <br />Meadows until 2030. This recommendation allows for the inclusion of specific adaptive equipment along <br />with an entire play structure adding cohesiveness throughout the structure for all users. The Committee had <br />completed research regarding the addition of several specific pieces that would have been installed along- <br />
