CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />RES. #24- 0/-/ <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE UPCOMING <br />GENERAL ELECTION (NOVEMBER 5, 2024) <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota State Statute 20413.21, subd. 2, the City Council of the City of <br />Centerville must select and appoint election judges for the upcoming General Election, (November 5, <br />2024); and <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk has advertised for individuals interested in serving in the capacity of election <br />judge, contacted individuals provided by the County through lists from Republican Party as the <br />Democratic Party did not provide a list, utilized previously appointed judges or a combination of all to <br />compile the list below of those that Council will consider appointing; and <br />WHEREAS, all of the listed individuals are required to receive training either in the capacity of head <br />judge (3 hours) or election judge (2 hours) as required by Minnesota State Statute 204B.25 and if any <br />of the individuals listed below are not trained, the Election Administrator/Head Judge has the duty and <br />responsibility to not allow that individual to serve in the capacity of head judge or election judge; and <br />Teresa Bender (Elect. Head Judge) Pat Downing (Judge) Janis Hackman (Judge) <br />Heidi Errickson-Grahek (Judge) Myrna Woolery (Judge) Judy Landucci (Judge) <br />John Thill (Judge) Jim Weatherhead (Judge) Judith Hansen (Judge) <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA: <br />1. Authorizes the Election Administrator/Head Judge to deny an individual the opportunity to serve <br />as a Head Judge or Election Judge due to failure to receive proper training per Minnesota State <br />Statute 204B.25. <br />2. Appoints the above stated individuals for the general election to serve in the capacity of head <br />judge or election judges if trained according to Minnesota State Statute 20413.25 with the <br />assignments and schedule subject to the discretion of the City Clerk or designee. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council this 25th day of September, 2024. <br />Attest: <br /> <br />City Clerk Mayor <br />
